Commission Policy

Thank you for your interest in commissioning me! When you submit a payment for a commission, you also agree to the following terms:

REQUESTS VS. ORDERS

  • Commissions may be requested through the Creative Empulse online shop.

  • I will respond to your request within 48 hours. Commission requests remain requests until I have confirmed your order in writing.

PAYMENT

  • Upon confirmation of your order, payment is due in full via PayPal invoice. Invoices will be sent to your email within 24 hours of order confirmation.

  • Commissions are not begun until payment is received.

PROCESS

  • Upon receipt of payment via PayPal invoice, I will begin work on your order. You may request progress snapshots and updates at any time by emailing me at emily@creativeempulse.com.

  • Please allow 14-21 days after payment for me to complete your commission. If I anticipate longer wait times during busy periods, I will notify you when confirming your initial commission request. If you need your order sooner, you must communicate your deadline to me in your initial commission request email. I am occasionally able to accommodate rush orders for an additional fee.

  • Client satisfaction is important to me! Once an order is completed, I will upload the file(s) to Google Drive and send you a private link for review and download. At this time, I am able to make reasonable edits and adjustments to your order. Significant edits requiring large amounts of repainting may incur an additional fee.

REFUNDS

  • Life happens! If you need to cancel an order, please notify me via email as soon as possible. If I have not yet started your commission, I will refund your payment in full. Any refunds will be processed via PayPal.

  • Due to the custom nature of my work, I am only able to partially refund pieces that are already in progress. The refund you receive will be determined by the amount of time that has been spent on your piece, up to a maximum of 50% of the price. Should you receive a refund, you forfeit all rights to the commission, including any progress images you may have received.

  • I do not offer refunds for commissions for which a proof has been completed.

  • I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any time, for any reason. If I am unable to complete your commission or am expecting an unforeseen delay, I will notify you as soon as possible. Should I be unable to complete your commission, I will immediately refund your payment in full. In the event of an unforeseen delay, you will have the option to confirm your acceptance of the new deadline, OR you may choose to receive a refund commensurate with the amount of time that has been spent on your piece.

USAGE & RIGHTS

  • By submitting photos to me when requesting a commission, you certify that you have the rights to the images included and that I may reference them to create your commission.

  • I retain all rights to any commissioned art that I create for you and may use it for a variety of promotional purposes including in printed materials and online. Unless otherwise negotiated, I also retain reproduction rights, including the right to use commissioned artwork for commercial purposes not limited to prints, products, and licensing.

  • Commissioned art is restricted to the client’s personal use only. You may not resell my work or create products featuring my work for resale or commercial distribution under any circumstance. Licensing and commercial projects require a separate agreement and fee.
